The tagline for the Shark Rocket Powerhead is “heavy-duty cleaning power without the heavy lifting” and this vacuum delivers on its promise. As a pet lover, my house is run by an ornery, short-hair, tuxedo feline that sheds like crazy. If that wasn’t bad enough, as an urban dweller who loves “fresh” air I often keep my windows open. So if I don’t want to look as if I live in a dust bunny city, I need to sweep daily, or run a dry cloth across my floors every other day.
The need to attempt to keep my apartment tidy prompted me to buy a Dyson D65 Animal Upright vacuum a few years back. This $400 investment was great for the first few months, but the reality of having to lug around this upright vacuum from room to room became a hassle. The darn thing is heavy, and the size of the vacuum demands that I need to keep the item out in the open, or stored in my bathroom. And honestly this is not something I want to look at daily even if I use every day. But now that isn’t an issue for me because of the Shark Rocket Powerhead!
The Shark Rocket Powerhead is an extremely powerful vacuum that weighs less than 10 pounds, and only 1 POUND in hand when vacuuming. The Shark Rocket Powerhead vacuum has saved me! Moving the item from one end of my apartment to the other doesn’t break my back, and due to its size, the vacuum is easy to store out of sight, but most importantly the Rocket Powerhead is POWERFUL! No amount of cat hair or cat litter is too much for this machine of greatness. And if life gets a bit too crazy and I’m unable to vacuum for a few days, those dust bunnies that make an appearance are sucked up in seconds when I bust out the Rocket Powerhead.
A vacuum that is powerful and has a small footprint is paramount for me, but one that can handle all types of flooring is also quite important. All the flooring in my apartment is either hardwood or ceramic, and they need a bit more care than carpeting, because scuffs and scratches will ruin them. The Shark Rocket Powerhead comes with interchangeable brushrolls that are designed for all types of floors. Which is fantastic addition for any household. For my standard everyday cleaning needs I use the standard brushroll on LO, and when I need go up against a mess of cat litter, I easily switch to the gentle touch brushroll and turn the vacuum on HI.
Now let’s discuss the ease of use and price: the Shark Rocket Powerhead has Dynamic Power Steering that allows me to easily steer the vacuum around, between, and under furniture. This is UH-mazing for me since I have quite a few bookcases that the Rocket Powerhead can go under, without the need of an accessory tool or sweeping the dust out from under the piece, then vacuuming the pile up. The vacuums height easily adjusts for my under 5′ 4″ frame to anyone taller than myself. The removal of the dust cap is simple! To help alleviate the dust cloud that comes with vacuum debris disposal, I place a wet paper towel in the trash can. The Rocket Powerhead’s dust cap shape is the perfect size to ensure this cleaning hack actually works. This has NEVER happened with the Dyson, no matter how much debri was collected. In further comparison, the Shark Rocket Powerhead retails for under $200, that’s half the cost of most Dyson uprights. With the holiday season rapidly approaching there might be a Black Friday deal you can score the Rocket Powerhead for even cheaper.
