Hades makes a deal with the Heroes for help saving Zelena, but can he be trusted? Get a sneak peek of tonight’s Once Upon a Time (“Firebird”), airing at 8:00pm ET|PT on ABC.
Last week’s Once Upon a Time may have been titled “Sisters“, but there were a whole bunch of family dynamics going on!
Of course, the most prominent story was the relationship between Regina, Zelena, and Cora. Cora has done a lot of dastardly things to her two daughters, but I think what we learned last week might be the worst of all. Regina and Zelena had known each other as kids; even more, they had loved each other! But because Cora thought love was weakness, she split them up and made them forget ever meeting. Even without this knowledge, it still made me upset to think Regina was so desperate to stop Zelena and Hades that she would turn to Cora for help. I’m glad Zelena learned the truth. I’m more happy that Cora finally put her ridiculous manipulations aside and helped both her daughters heal. Cora was finally able to walk off into her HEA, but is this the last we’ll be seeing of her?

Meanwhile, the showdown between David and James finally happened, and truth be told, I’m a little disappointed. When James knocked David out and impersonated his brother, I thought this plan was for the long haul. Instead it was just a ploy to kidnap Baby Hood and use her as leverage against Hades. James revealed himself so quickly, and then when the brotherly fight ended with David pushing James into the River of Lost Souls, it felt like a let-down. All that angst, conflict, and drama is now over? I wouldn’t have minded it being extended for a little longer, but maybe James isn’t gone for good.
And finally, just when Zelena was about to reunite with her love, Hades, Rumple teamed up with Pan to kidnap her: “I hear you’re wicked. Well, I’m much worse.” *SCREAMING*
What do Rumple and Pan want from Zelena? Do they want to have her trade places with Pan so he can go back to Storybrooke? Will they use her as leverage to have Hades break the contract for Belle/Rumple’s baby?
In tonight’s episode “Firebird” (written by Jane Espenson, directed by Ron Underwood) we get some of these answers:
EMMA AND HOOK’S LOVE FACES THE ULTIMATE TEST—Hades turns to the heroes to ask for help with getting Zelena back from Rumplestiltskin and Peter Pan. In return, he offers to take all their names off their tombstones. However, when Hook is still unable to leave, he and Emma must journey into the depths of the Underworld. Meanwhile, Cruella De Vil is determined to keep the heroes trapped in the Underworld. In flashbacks, Emma searches for answers about her family and makes an unexpected friendship. (via ABC)

In the first, Hades finds the Heroes and makes a deal with Emma to help him save Zelena. In the second video, Rumple and Pan bring Zelena to Hades and reveal their intent:

I definitely think Hades is right. Ripping up that contract won’t be enough to have Rumple and Pan turn Zelena over. However, this deal Hades has made with Emma sounds too good to be true… what do you think?
