A new Star Trek television series is coming this January 2017. See the first teaser and logo.

I know many of us are looking forward to the upcoming Star Trek Beyond film in July (especially after the announcement of the world premiere at San Diego Comic-Con). However, this year marks a very significant milestone for fans. 2016 is the 50th anniversary for the original TV series (created by Gene Roddenberry, debuted September 8, 1966, and aired for three seasons).
In conjunction with this anniversary, CBS announced the next chapter of the Star Trek franchise. A totally new Star Trek television series is coming in January 2017! The series will air a special preview of the premiere episode on the CBS TV Network, and then the remaining episodes will available exclusively via CBS All Access streaming service.
The upcoming series will introduce new characters seeking new worlds and civilizations, while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966.
At last week’s CBS Upfront presentation, they revealed the logo for the series and a promotional teaser for the highly-anticipated program. Check them out below:
New crews. New villains. New heroes. New worlds.
We can’t wait for the new adventures coming our way!
Production on the new Star Trek will begin in Toronto, Canada this coming Fall.
