Suits returns for its sixth season on July 13 at 9:00pm ET|PT on USA Network. Watch two previews, plus get details about new cast members!

Suitors, why can’t we have nice things? I still can’t believe how Season 5 ended (“25th Hour“). One moment I was getting ready to watch my beautiful Mi-chel ship tie the knot, and then the next, Mike absconded from the church and was turning himself in to start his prison sentence… WITHOUT marrying Rachel. As if that wasn’t enough to bring on tears (and I did cry), we saw that the Pearson/Specter/Litt offices were completely empty. It seemed like every member of the firm picked up and left. Perhaps they were tired of the drama with Mike and the seemingly constant federal investigations.
But where did they go? Was EVERYONE poached by another firm? There are so many questions now… will Mike serve his full two-year sentence? Will Rachel forgive Mike for leaving her at the altar? Will Pearson/Specter/Litt survive this desertion?
Well, next month we’ll start to get some answers! USA Network announced that Suits will be back for its sixth season on Wednesday, July 13 at 9:00pm ET|PT. (Suits will be the lead-in to Mr. Robot, which will be back for its second season on Wednesdays at 10:00pm ET|PT):
Season 6 begins immediately following the events of the shocking Season 5 cliffhanger that left Mike behind bars. After signing a plea deal to spare his colleagues at Pearson/Specter/Litt, Mike will be confronted with the harsh realities of prison life as he starts his two-year sentence.
Meanwhile, the once bustling Pearson/Specter/Litt offices are a ghost town–the partners have defected, leaving Harvey, Jessica (Gina Torres), Louis (Rick Hoffman), Donna (Sarah Rafferty) and Rachel (Meghan Markle) to pick up the pieces. But the firm’s troubles are far from over and they will have to deal with the fallout from Mike’s crime before they can even begin to rebuild.
This summary makes me nervous… Mike accepted the plea deal to save the firm from any further investigation and prosecution. So what’s this about Pearson/Specter/Litt having to deal with “fallout from Mike’s crime”?!
And let me be honest, I’m not ready to see Mike in jail!
Watch these two Season 6 sneak peeks. In the first, we start to see the transition from the end of the fifth season finale into the new episodes… and there’s so much heartache. And in the second promo trailer (via an Entertainment Weekly exclusive), we get a first look at Mike in prison… he’s having his hair shaved and before making his way to his cell. All the while, he’s remembering the events that brought him to this point:
*CRIES* Please let Mike be OK! What did you think of the previews?
USA Network shared several cast-members will be returning as guest-stars.
Aloma Wright will reprise her role as Gretchen, as will John Pyper-Ferguson (Jack Soloff) who left the firm after Mike’s arrest, Neal McDonough (SEC investigator Sean Cahill) and Patrick Fischler (Eliot Stemple, Harvey Specter’s Harvard nemesis).
New stars will be joining the cast in Season 6, including Carly Pope (as Tara Messer, who will come to Louis’ aid), Erik Palladino (ER, 666 Park Avenue), Paul Schulze (Nurse Jackie), Malcolm Jamal Warner (American Crime: The People vs. OJ Simpson, House of Lies) (via USA Network).
I’ll definitely be live tweeting the new season when it starts next month, and I hope you’ll join me!
