Outlander‘s cast/creators, including Jon Gary Steele and Terry Dresbach attended the debut of Paley Center’s “The Artistry of Outlander” exhibit in LA. Also, watch a new Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe interview with the LA Times.
This has been a pretty great Outlander week, so far! After an awesome episode last Saturday setting us up for emotions of the last four episodes in the season (#HighlanderReunion FTW!), we learned that the finale episode (“Dragonfly in Amber”) will be a 90 minute extended special! (Click HERE for more information about “Dragonfly in Amber”, including the synopsis and teasers!)
This upcoming Saturday, we can expect another new episode, but besides that, Team Outlander has been busy this week!
First, yesterday (Monday, June 6) Paley Center for Media, Los Angeles debuted their “The Artistry of Outlander” exhibit. “The Artistry of Outlander” takes visitors through this world, featuring several of the iconic costumes designed by Outlander’s Emmy-winning costume designer Terry Dresbach. Furthermore, fans can physically step into 18th century Paris via actual set pieces, life-size episodic photography, and behind-the-scenes video segments from production designer, Jon Gary Steele. We’ve seen many of these on the TV screen, but can you imagine being able to see this brilliant workmanship in person?!
In the video below, Jon Gary Steele and Terry Dresbach walk us through the exhibit, from King Louis’ star chamber (“Faith”) to Jamie and Claire’s Parisian apartment, as well as the phenomenal costuming:

The name of this exhibit is so spot on… I mean, this is pure artistry! Goodness, can we talk about the spectacular embroidery and costume design? That Christian Dior-inspired gown still gives me chills. Of course, this brilliant attention to detail is part of what makes Outlander the outstanding show it is!
Last night the Paley Center also held their red carpet and Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Ron Moore, and Maril Davis joined Terry Dresbach and Jon Gary Steele for the event, which included a panel discussion moderated by Variety‘s Mo Ryan.
Watch the video below for a brief interview with Sam and Cait (via the Associated Press) where they talk about “The Artistry of Outlander” exhibit and the Season 2 finale episode:

For more highlights from the red carpet and panel, check out Paley Center’s twitter timeline (June 6). Our friends SamCaitLife also have a great round-up post HERE.
“The Artistry of Outlander” exhibit will be on display from on display from June 8 to August 14, 2016 with admission FREE and open to the public. Go HERE for more details.
Ahead of the Paley Center event, Sam and Cait sat time with Yvonne Villarreal from the LA Times to talk all things Outlander. In the midst of an ongoing Outlander BINGO game (how did I not know this existed?!), they chatted about the recent multi-season renewal announcement, the development of their characters and the Jamie/Claire relationship this season and into the future, and the process of adapting the TV show from the books. You can watch the full 30-minute interview below:
