At SDCC this year, Carlos Valdes shared his thoughts on Cisco’s character so far and what we should look forward to in The Flash Season 3.

Cisco Ramon is such a fan-favorite! It’s like he’s the fandom representative on The Flash.
Cisco’s awesome t-shirts, inventive meta-human names, and love of technology basically make him the perfect fanboy. And let’s not even mention Cisco’s awesomesauce dance moves!
He’s an essential member of Team Flash, always down for the cause and willing to do anything to help his friends.
At the same time, over the last two seasons, we know Cisco has dealt with his own share of difficulty, like coming to terms with his inner meta-human (Vibe), a tough relationship with his family (especially his brother), and facing Harrison Wells’ (Eobard Thawne) massive betrayal.
Oh, and there was that one time his girlfriend ended up being an immortal priestess with wings and a soulmate (Kendra/Hawkgirl); and that other time where his love interest has a sometimes evil brother (Lisa Snart).
So with all this change coming to Flashpoint, can we still expect the same loveable Cisco?
At SDCC this year, Carlos Valdes shared his thoughts on Cisco’s character so far and what we should look forward to in Season 3. Check out the interview below!
Let’s talk about Flashpoint! Is anything about Cisco the same?
According to Carlos, nothing is the same. In fact, he’s had some trouble letting go of those attributes that made us fall in love with Cisco in the first place. However, Cisco in any world will always have a core set of characteristics, his love of technology, for example.
What do you make of Cisco’s HILARIOUS relationship with Harrison Wells this past season? Will that continue in Flashpoint?
Carlos shares fans’ love of the Cisco/Harry dynamic, which is mostly a result of improv. He can’t say if Cisco will be hanging out with Harry in Flashpoint, but he finds it hard to believe that the writers wouldn’t want to use that relationship. Who will Cisco be interacting with? Carlos gives us a cryptic answer: “the heroes”.
Why did Cisco fight so hard against being a meta-human?
Carlos believes it’s a combination of two things: Cisco’s lack of confidence (being bullied as a kid) and the powers being a result of Wells’ betrayal. Cisco is dealing with a lot of trauma under all that wit.
From the trailer released at Comic-Con, we now know that Cisco is the owner of Ramon Industries and the richest man in America… he’s also not so friendly. YIKES!
