Sullivan Stapleton had a lot to share about Blindspot Season 2 and Jeller. Check out our interview!

The love I have for Blindspot is ridiculous, and part of that is because of the main man, himself, Kurt Weller.
From the moment Kurt was called in to see his name tattooed on Jane Doe’s back, you just knew the relationship between these two would be complex, and oh so juicy!
In case you missed it, I’m a *major* Jeller shipper. I love how protective he is of her… and when he finds out that Jane is Taylor Shaw and his dad really isn’t a murderer, you can just see his determination to make things right for his family and friends.
I mean, it’s so clear that Weller really struggles with the loss of his childhood friend and ultimately the relationship with his father.
Of course, as Kurt learns by the end of Season 1, Jane isn’t Taylor and his dad really did kill the little girl. YIKES.
At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, I had a chance to talk to Sullivan Stapleton, AKA Kurt Weller, about his character’s trials and tribulations. Furthermore, how do the revelations of Season 1 link us to the next season?
Watch the interviews below!
How would you describe Kurt’s development in Season 1? Is it possible for him to get past of the hurt and damage?
What Sully wants fan’s to know about his character is that, by the end of Season 1, two things drive Kurt Weller: Jane’s betrayal and learning that all these years, his dad was a murderer. As we enter Season 2, Kurt will continue to deal with these discoveries and the pain. But we will get to see Weller be the quintessential badass he is by taking down bad guys.
Speaking of betrayal, how would you describe the relationship between Weller and Jane? Is there the potential for romance?
Welps, fellow Jeller shippers, according to Sully, he sees the relationship between Weller and Jane as being more based on a brother/sister and friendship love. He does acknowledge the kiss the two characters shared, but maintains that, in the end, they decided that their relationship should remain a platonic one. But then Kurt learns that Jane has been lying about remembering things, etc. And Sully really doesn’t think Weller will forgive her.
SADS!
Well, this is me on the Jeller ship because I still believe in a chance for forgiveness and love. Though, judging from the Season 2 trailer, things are going to be incredibly adversarial betwen Jane and Weller for the foreseeable future.
What do you think?
