Tonight we learn Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’s origin story… and of course Rumple is involved. Also, Snow and Henry begin their first day of school! Get a sneak peek of Once Upon a Time.

Last week’s Once Upon a Time (“The Other Shoe“) AKA the adventures of CaptainSwan and Henry (Operation Cobra II) gave me so many feelings!
Emma, Killian, and Henry’s attempts to help (Cinder)Ella/Ashley were mostly successful. Ella was able to save her Step-sister from their sinister mother and reunite Clorinda with the love of her life, Jacob (the Prince’s footman). The bonding moments were fantastic to watch, and at the end, Emma finally asked Killian to move in with her… and he agreed!
Now I just need for Emma to tell her family the truth about her tremors and visions. I also really need a CaptainSwan wedding and baby. (P.S. Can we talk about Killian playing with Ella/Ashley’s baby girl?! Overwhelmed by feels!)
Meanwhile, Regina, Charming, and Snow tried to appeal to Hyde for help figuring out how the Evil Queen was still alive. Unfortunately Evil Queen got to Hyde first and by the end of the episode both were free from that jail cell and off to cause more trouble for our Heroes.
At the same time, there was some more hope: Snow linked up Dr. Jekyll and Dr. Frankenstein and together they could start figuring out what was going on with the Evil Queen. And Snow decided that she wanted to go back to being a teacher again.
Tonight’s episode follows the Evil Queen/Hyde/Rumple trio attempt to steal Dr. Jekyll’s serum. We also learn via flashbacks that Rumple played an integral role in the early Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde saga.
In “Strange Case” (written by David H. Goodman and Nelson Soler, directed by Alrick Riley”:
THE EVIL QUEEN DOES EVERYTHING SHE CAN TO GET HER HANDS ON DR. JEKYLL’S SERUM; SNOW STARTS HER FIRST DAY BACK AS A SCHOOL TEACHER; AND HOOK TRIES TO PROTECT BELLE FROM MR. GOLD—The Evil Queen and Hyde continue on their quest to steal Dr. Jekyll’s serum even as Snow looks forward to her first day back in the classroom. Emma looks forward to Hook moving in with her, and Hook finds himself trying to protect Belle from Mr. Gold, who has made sure she can’t leave the confines of the Jolly Roger. Meanwhile, in flashback, Rumplestiltskin helps Dr. Jekyll complete his serum to separate a man’s personality into two—good and evil—and, as always, his help comes with a hefty price. (via ABC)
Watch these two clips from the upcoming show.
The first is a flashback featuring Jekyll and a meeting with an influential scientist to introduce his serum capable to dividing a personality into two, man and beast.
And in the second video, back in Storybrooke, Rumple gives himself a haircut (OMG!) and is joined by Evil Queen and Hyde:

Did you see Jekyll’s anger and maybe even desperation? Of course that’s when Rumple would show up!
And WOW, it looks like the “evil” part of a person, once split, can’t be killed. Since Rumple was around to help Jekyll make that serum, he must know something about it, right?
Take a look at 35+ images from “Strange Case”, where we see more of the Jekyll/Rumple interactions in the past, Rumple/Regina/Hyde in the present, plus Snow and Henry starting their first day of school. If you’re paying attention, you’ll see that Snow makes an important new friend… 😉
