We’ve been counting down since last summer, and the day is finally here! American Gods premieres on STARZ tonight and we really can’t wait to watch. From the early reviews, we know the show will be visually stunning, intricate, and esoteric…something that will slowly reveal itself to be quite timely.
Thanks to STARZ, we have a preview of tonight’s premiere to share, including THREE new clips.
In “The Bone Orchard” (written by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, directed by David Slade):
When Shadow Moon is released from prison a few days early, following the death of his wife, he meets the enigmatic Mr. Wednesday and is conscripted into his employ as bodyguard. Attacked his first day on the job, Shadow quickly discovers that this role may be more than he bargained for. (via STARZ)
The three clips below introduce us to this strange new world. In the first, Shadow Moon meets a pretty tall Leprechaun, who corrects our stereotypes about the mythical creatures. The scene continues in the second clip, where Mr. Wednesday joins them with drinks and cements that Shadow Moon is in his employment. And in the last video, Mr. Wednesday and Shadow Moon have a conversation about intersections of faith and science.
