Jesse has a big problem after he realizes the Saint of Killers doesn’t listen to Genesis. He needs a new plan and fast. Here’s our recap for “Mumbai Sky Tower”!

“Mumbai Sky Tower” picks up right where the season premiere left off.
Jesse is using Genesis to try and command the Saint of Killers to stop but he raises his gun and shoots at Jesse. Luckily, for Jesse, not so luckily for the guy driving the food truck that pulls out in front of him, the bullet hits him and sends him careening into the Saint of Killers, pushing him against a light pole.
All the gun afficiandos run out with their weapons, and they all are taken aback when the Saint comes out from the truck. Jesse uses Genesis to command them:
“Stop him!”
They empty their clips on him and finally one person uses a RPG to blow the Saint up. Their victory is short-lived because the Saint regenerate, pouring bullets from his body as he does.

Does this mean he’s an angel? Maybe the Angel of Death? He has to be something to regenerate like the angels can.
Jesse, using Genesis again, tells them to run. They’re too slow, though, and the Saint rips them apart with his own bullets. Cassidy shuffles Jesse inside and to find Tulip so they can leave, and that’s when they finally see what they’ve been missing the whole trip so far.
Annville is gone. Tulip sit on the bed in shock as she watches the news report. Jesse sits beside her in equal shock. It’s not until bullets rip through the room that they jump up and start running out of the room.
The Saint is killing everyone in the motel, and Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy are looking for a way out. They eventually find a window beside the vending machines and as Tulip tries to jimmy open a window while on Cassidy’s shoulders.
A man who has had his arm blown off, walks in and tries to get a drink. He wanted a root beer but it gave him ginger ale and it’s really upsets him, so Jesse uses Genesis to tel him to “Be quiet.”
When he does that, we see the Saint of Killer’s turn his head. It’s our first indiction that he’s tracking Jesse by how he uses Genesis.
By the time the Saint gets to the vending area, they’ve already escaped through the window, and he kills the injured man who was upset about the root beer/ginger ale fiasco.
Once they’re away from the motel, Cassidy give his opinion:
“All right. Three possible explanations here for all this. Number one–Terminator. Machine sent from the future to kill one of us. Number two–Terminator 2. Machine sent from the future to kill all three of us or number three. Or number three, he’s Nazgûl, Fell Rider. Lord of the Rings, brilliant film.”
He tells Jesse that he’s sorry about Annville being blown up, and Jesse says they have no idea how to find God. Cassidy sees a family getting into a car with “The Great Ganesh” on their shirts, and he remembers the commercial from the night before…

A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO
Fiore comes back on the bus from Hell alone. He hitches a ride to the nearest casino and begins a series of exercises in killing himself.

He hangs himself, shoots himself, and eventually kills himself by sticking the microphone from a performer in a bucket of water mid-performance.
All of this shows us that DeBlanc must really be dead because he didn’t come back after the Saint killed him, and Fiore is very upset about still being there.
Since he regenerates in front of a large crowd, they all think it’s a new show at the casino. Thus, Fiore begins his foray into fame. He has his head cut off, puts an apple on his head and gets shot with the arrow instead, has his assistant saw him in half with a chainsaw.
And every time he regenerates.
The trio arrives at the casino and Tulip decides to go to their room. She’s seriously upset about Annville, and we have to remember that Walter, her only family was there. While she’s gone, Jesse and Cassidy go talk to Fiore.
Of course, they confuse him with DeBlanc but he doesn’t correct them at first. He tells them that DeBlanc is dead. Killed by the Saint of Killers.
After a very brief meet-and-greet with a sick child, Fiore explains the Saint of Killers is tracking Jesse through his use of Genesis. After listening to Jesse explain how much they need his help to find God Fiore says:
“I understand. This is serious. I don’t know what happened to me. I used to be happy. Until I came to this place–this earth. All I knew was peace. But now? And this is my only hesitation in helping you, Preacher, my only hesitation whatsoever, and that is…I really…don’t give a shit.”
Before he heads up for a show, he tells them that he’s Fiore. DeBlanc was the other one.
Cassidy tells Jesse that he needs two hours and forty-five minutes and he’ll get Fiore to call off the Saint.
Jesse lets him do it because what does he have to lose?

Jesse finds Tulip in the bar. The news of Annville exploding is really hitting her hard. She didn’t have any family but Walter and now he’s gone.
“Remember when he came to my “bring daddy to first grade” day? He showed up so drunk he kept falling off the little kid’s desk then threw up by the swing sets. I wasn’t that mad, you know. He was always throwing up and falling off of things. I wasn’t that mad because he wore a suit and tie. I don’t know where it came from. Lord knows I never saw it again after, but, that day, he wore a suit and tie…for me.”
Jesse asks her what she wants to do. He suggests going into the casino, but she tells him that they should get a room.
When they’re laying in bed, she asks him what the plan is now. Jesse says that he’s going to hold God accountable for all the bad stuff that’s happened, including Annville blowing up.
Tulip tells him that he’ll figure it out because that’s what he does. They are quiet for a little bit and Jesse says:
“Let’s get married.”
He says that he was thinking about how she said Walter was her last family, but maybe that’s not true. Tulip says that he hates marriage. Jesse tells her that she’s the one who doesn’t like the idea of marriage. He starts having doubts, saying they don’t come from good marriages and it was just a thought.
“Jesse Custer, that was the worst marriage proposal I’ve ever heard.”
But she smiles at him and you can tell she’s changed her mind.

Cassidy has set up a hotel room to look like a science experiment. Fiore enters and Cassidy invites him to try all the drugs.

He starts him on heroin by injecting him in the neck. What is probably a safe dose for Cassidy was way too much for Fiore and he dies immediately. He regenerates, though, and comes right back into the room.
What happens next is a a montage of extreme drug use, bonding, and ice cream eating.

Fiore talks about how he and DeBlanc were best friends and their friendship was legendary. He goes on to say that the Saint of Killers was the one who did it (we already knew that) and Cassidy asks:
“Where do dead angels go?”
This is definitely a question to think on…
After some hot tub bonding, they’re in a blanket fort and Cassidy is sharing his theory about foreskins with Fiore. They’re getting a long very well, and it’s what Fiore needed. He was so lonely.
—
At the bar, Tulip and Jesse have gotten a pager and are waiting in line to get married. As they talk at the bar, Tulip spots someone from her past across the room. She gets ansty and tells Jesse that she needs to go change her shirt and follows after the man.
Jesse sits at the bar, this time with Fiore’s assistant. He absolutely hates his job, and he’s disgusted with all the people that come to watch Fiore’s show. He does leave Jesse with some important advice.
“Don’t forget the music.”
This puts Jesse back in the right headspace because he still needs to find God, and so far the only thing he has to go on is that God likes jazz.
—
Fiore comes in and it causes a stir. Jesse goes to Cassidy and asks him if it’s settled. Cass tells him that it’s all taken care of and Fiore will tell the Saint of Killers to stop the mission to kill Genesis.
Jesse tells him that he and Tulip are getting married and the shock is evident on Cassidy’s face. He asks where Tulip is and Jesse tells him that she went to change her shirt and she’ll be right back.
Poor Cassidy is lovesick over Tulip and this is hard for him.
—
In the hotel room, Tulip changes shirts and goes to open the door and her old friend, Gary, is standing there.

Apparently, a man Tulip used to work for but abandoned, is looking for her. His name is Victor and he’s not happy that Tulip disappeared. In fact, Gary tells her that she needs to call him right now.
She slaps the phone from his hand, and that just makes him mad.
“Say you didn’t see me.”
He tells her if it was just him, he would, but this is Victor. They start to fight and Gary grabs her around her throat and drags her around the room as he tries to get service on his cellphone to call Victor.
Tulip eventually gets away and beats Gary to death with the wedding pager stick that she and Jesse were given to mark their place in line for the wedding.
That’s when Cassidy shows up.
“Jaysis, what happened?”
“Don’t tell Jesse.”
Annnnd now Tulip and Cassidy have another secret from Jesse.
—
Jesse and Fiore stand at the front of the chapel, waiting on Tulip to get back. The organizers are getting frustrated but they’re on a set time frame and Tulip is causing some hold up.

Fiore tells Jesse that Genesis isn’t a toy when Jesse says that once SoK is called off, he’ll be able to use it again.
“You of all people should know how have dangerous it is. And so is the boy you sent to Hell.”
Jesse says that Fiore said he’d get Eugene from Hell, and Fiore tells him there’s no way he’s going back down there. Jesse can’t believe that Hell is that bad, but he moves on to something else…
“You were right. Genesis is not a toy. I was wrong about that.”
“Incredibly wrong. Unbelievably wrong. Stupendously wrong.”
But..if the situation arises, if there is a time I think using using The Word will bring me a step closer to finding God, I’m going to use it.”
“That’ll be a big mistake.”
“You guys said that a lot. ‘Genesis is a mistake’, but I think it was meant for something.”
“What?”
“I said it before. I told you back in Annville. It was meant for me.”
Tulip finally shows up and Jesse walks to her. She tells him that she doesn’t want to get married. When he asks what they’re supposed to do, she tells him they continue how they are and they get back to finding God.
Jesse looks very disappointed but doesn’t push her on it.

Outside the casino, Fiore and Cassidy say there goodbyes, and Fiore hugs him pretty tightly before letting go. Before he gets in the car, Jesse asks him what happened with Tulip when he went to get her, and Cassidy lies to him and says nothing.
Jesse talks Fiore and tells him that they’re going to find God and follow the music to New Orleans. Tulip mumbles New Orleans the same time Jesse does, and you can tell she’s not happy about their end destination. Maybe that’s where Victor lives?
Before they drive off, Jesse hangs out the passenger window and looks at Fiore, using Genesis he says:
“Find peace.”

Fiore repeats those words to himself as they drive away. He goes inside the hotel and to his room. He mutters “find peace” again and eventually he’s in his dressing room.
The Saint of Killers approaches him from behind. Since Jesse used Genesis, he was easy to find. He tells Fiore that their deal steal stands and Fiore refreshes our memory:
“Kill Genesis and you’ll see your family again.”
Fiore tells the Saint that Jesse is headed to New Orleans and that he has one final mission for him before he leaves.
“I have to get out of here.”
A little while later, Fiore steps on stage and looks into the crowd. He nods his head and the Saint of Killers shoots and kills him.
Then the Saint is on his way to Louisiana.
—
Fiore’s death brings up the question that Cassidy asked earlier, where do angels go when they die? Will Fiore be with DeBlanc? If you’re killed by the Saint of Killers, do you immediately go to Hell?
Since Tom Brooke (Fiore) and Anatol Yusef (DeBlanc) are still in the opening credits, does that mean we will see them again?
I have so many questions!
Next week on Preacher, our favorites arrive in New Orleans and start looking for God. We also get a look at Eugene and his place in Hell. Take a look at the clips below for a preview of “Damsels”!
