Preacher ended last season with a gut punch, but it looks like Jesse’s going to do whatever it takes to make it right. Even go back to his childhood home and talk to grandma. Here’s a look at what to expect from season three!

Let out that breath you’ve been holding because Tulip O’Hare is alive! We have no idea what this means for her character since she was dead for a good bit and has seemingly returned thanks to Jesse’s Gran’ma, but YAY! Jesse and Cassidy are back as well, and it looks like they’re trying to figure out where they fit in, too.
Angelville isn’t a good place to be, and Jesse has known that his entire life. Tulip’s death forces him back, and he makes a deal with his gran’ma. He’ll do anything if she saves Tulip.
The cast gets a little bigger this season with the introduction of Jesse’s gran’ma, played by Betty Buckley, and two other people from Jesse’s past, T.C. and Jody, played by Colin Cunningham and Jeremy Childs respectively.
It’s obvious that Gran’ma isn’t looking to let Jesse go any time soon, but he’s got a lot to take care of this season.
1. He needs to get the bit of his soul back so he can control Genesis again. We’ll need to see the Saint of Killers for that.
2. He’s got to deal with Herr Starr because he and Jesse have a pretty big scam going at the moment.
3. At some point, he and Cassidy are going to have to hash out all that drama from the season two finale. ANGST.
4. You know he and Tulip need to have a big talk.
The official synopsis from AMC provides insight into the journey this season:
In Season 3, Jesse Custer’s quest for God takes him back to the place he’s been avoiding his whole life: home. Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy return to Angelville, the Louisiana Plantation where Jesse was raised, and find old grudges and deadly obligations await them. With the help of his friends — and a few enemies — Jesse will need to escape his past… because the future of the world depends on it. {Via AMC}
Jesse does have a lot going on, but we can’t forget that Hitler is also on the loose. Yeah, he ran off and left Eugene, and based on the above clip, Eugene is going to run into the Saint of Killers at some point. That poor kid can’t catch a break.
You can watch this fantastic behind-the-scenes clip that introduces her to Angelville with some great commentary from the cast to tide you over until the premiere.
Preacher will have a two-night premiere on AMC! Catch the season premiere on June 24th at 10/9c and the second episode on Monday, June 25th at 10/9c! Season three will consist of ten episodes.
